Dr. Bazaa is an Assistant Professor of Public Relations in the Department of Communication at MSU. She has 15 years of industry experience three of which in broadcast journalism and 12 in corporate communication (Rio Tinto), non-government (Save the Children U.K.), public diplomacy (The U.S. and Australian Embassies), and strategic communication consultancy (Adam Smith International). Dr. Bazaa’s research interests include organization-public relationships, value congruence, source credibility, online activism, and public perception of technologies, including virtual reality and artificial intelligence. Since December 2023, Dr. Bazaa has been collaborating with AFFIRM, the age-friendly Mississippi task force at the Social Sciences Research Center at MSU. She develops survey instruments targeting two sampling groups: individuals who are 50 or older and caregivers in Mississippi. Questions are designed to gauge the types of information sources to which individuals turn for health and social services and better understand the credibility of each information source from the respondent’s perspective.
