CONFERENCE PROGRAM An embarrassment of intellectual riches, not to mention great fun, is planned for this year's meeting. Symposia will be held on Emotion and Motivation (Deborah Richardson, Chair), the Self (James Beggan, Chair), Innovative Research Methods (Rick Hoyle, Chair), Research at Primarily Undergraduate Institutions (Kristen Klaaren, Chair), the Social-Clinical Interface (Robin Kowalski, Chair), and Group Processes (Steve Karau, Chair). And if all that weren't embarrassing and intellectually rich enough, Mark Leary of Wake Forest University has agreed to be our keynote speaker. Scheduled speakers at these sizzling symposia include Scott Allison, Steven Breckler, Dana Dunn, Don Forsyth, Patricia Gagne, Adam Hafdahl, Rick Hoyle, Robin Kowalski, Bibb Latane, James Maddux, Leonard Martin, Batja Mesquita, Cathy Seta, James Shepperd, Craig Smith, Richard Smith, Roger Terry, Abe Tesser and more!
CALL FOR POSTERS All conference participants, both faculty and students, may submit applications to present posters. A person may be first author on no more than one poster application and may submit no more than three applications. The application deadline is September 15, 1997 (postmarked). This year we encourage you to submit your poster applications using our new electronic application form, which you can access by clicking here. If you do not have internet access, then please submit the following items to Scott Allison, Department of Psychology, University of Richmond, VA 23173: 1. Your name, phone number, and e-mail address. 2. The author(s) of the poster and their university affiliations, in the order that you would like them to appear on the program. 3. The title of the poster presentation. 4. Three copies of a 100-200 word abstract, with each copy on a separate sheet of paper containing no identifying information.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION The Twentieth Annual Meeting of the Society of Southeastern Social Psychologists will be held in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. It will be hosted by Constantine Sedikides of UNC Chapel Hill, and sponsored by the University. Scott Allison of the University of Richmond is the Program Chair, and Jennifer Dent of the University of Richmond is the Associate Program Chair. Distribution of registration packets and snacks/drinks are scheduled from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. on Friday evening in the lobby of the Radisson Governor's Inn. Registration will continue on Saturday morning in the lobby of the hotel and meetings will be held all day Saturday. The registration fee entitles you to lunch, coffee breaks, and conference materials. The fee is $35 by October 10th and $40 after October 10th or on-site.
