Jessica R. Shappley
Jessica R. Shappley is a Research Associate I at the Social Science Research Center (SSRC), where she works closely with Dr. Arthur G. Cosby, William L. Giles Distinguished Professor and Director of the SSRC, on a variety of projects. Much of her research has been in the areas of public safety, immigration, disaster preparedness and health disparities. Of late, Jessica also assisted in the development of the Center’s new Culturomics Laboratory. In 2011, she received her Masters in Public Policy and Administration from Mississippi State University, where she also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Journalism. Ms. Shappley is currently a member of the American Society for Public Administration, Phi Kappa Phi Academic Honor Society and Pi Alpha Alpha Academic Honor Society. Her research interests include health policy, emergency management and political communication.
