David A. Swanson has authored or co-authored around 50 refereed journal articles dealing with demography and related topics. With Stan Smith and Jeff Tayman, he
wrote State and Local Population Projections: Methodology and Analysis (2001) and with Jay Siegel, edited The Methods and Materials of Demography 2nd Edition (2004).
He is the Secretary-treasurer of the Southern Demographic Association and serves as the Editor of its official journal, Population Research and Policy Review. Swanson came to Ole Miss from the Helsinki School of Economics.
