Northeast Mississippi AHEC
The Northeast MS Area Health Education Center works throughout the state of Mississippi to educate and unite individuals in the healthcare field. Northeast MS Area Health Education Center is committed to improving the quality of life for all Mississippians. The center’s current headquarters are within the Social Science Research Center at Mississippi State University. In addition to serving as the Northeast MS headquarters, the Social Science Research Center also conducts research for the statewide Area Health Education Center, also known as AHEC.
AHEC’s mission is to create a statewide network of health care professionals. This collection of professionals helps instruct individuals and professionals within different states who provide healthcare services. The primary purpose of AHEC is to track health care professionals who practice in MS in order to improve the quality and availability of health care. Northeast Mississippi Area Health Education center serves the following counties: Alcorn, Benton, Chickasaw, Clay, Itawamba, Lee, Lowndes, Monroe, Oktibbeha, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tishomingo, Tippah and Union.
