The Crime and Justice Research Unit (CJRU) is a collaboration between researchers at the Social Science Research Center and faculty in the Mississippi State University departments of psychology and sociology. Scientists of this unit conduct rigorous and independent research on subjects ranging from victimization to programming, law enforcement, the justice system, punishment, prisons and both adult and juvenile crime. The research conducted in this unit has both practical and policy implications. It is a continuing goal of the CJRU to provide objective and unbiased policy analysis for the state of Mississippi.
