In the past, efforts to help Mississippi’s children have not always been unified, but through 1) increased communication and networking; 2) sharing of struggles and successes; and 3) access to important, reliable information and research, we can work together to improve the future for all of our children. Therefore, the central mission of the FCRU is to become the research and development clearinghouse for children’s issues in the state of Mississippi, offering information on topics related to their health, education, safety and economic
well-being.

When people connect and share expertise for the common cause of helping children, they create a supportive community. Such a community can serve as the genesis of new approaches to old problems.
Learning about successful programs and strategies—what works and what doesn’t—allows people to adopt and adapt these strategies to address issues facing children in their area.
When people have access to the right information, they can apply this information to the problems facing their communities, and develop targeted solutions that improve the lives of children and families.
Having a clearinghouse that fosters connection and networking; the sharing of struggles and successes; and access to important, reliable information and research will join together those working for and with children in Mississippi and promote more effective action to address challenges facing the state. The FCRU is working to be this resource.
Please help our dream to unify Mississippi and assist our most vulnerable citizens become a reality. In order to grow our mission at the FCRU and create this clearinghouse, we are seeking state, regional and national sponsors that will enable us to expand our efforts. Together, the possibilities are endless.
