Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Area of
Behavioral and Social Dimensions of Highway Safety

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, a non-tenure track professional, will have major responsibility for the conduct of research in the area of behavioral and social dimensions of highway safety, including public health issues related to alcohol use and/or traffic safety in conjunction with the research team of the Mississippi Alcohol Safety Education Program (MASEP). The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will work closely with operations for program development and conduct program evaluation. Appointments are for one year, with the possibility of an extension for a second year.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform, direct and/or coordinate research activities within MASEP
Prepare proposals, statistical analyses, reports and manuscripts for publication as needed
Psychometric analysis, assessments
Willingness to travel within the state (Mississippi)
Applied research in multiple settings
Work with interdisciplinary groups and a wide range of stakeholders (judicial, law enforcement, mental health, and advocacy groups)
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
Doctorate in Psychology, Educational Psychology, Public Health or related discipline
Experience and knowledge of research methods and statistical analyses
Demonstrated research skills
Desirable Qualifications:
Database management experience
Fluent in Spanish
Strong background in statistics and measurement; multivariate analysis.
Good communication skills
Experience in implementing experimental designs in field settings, such as DUI intervention programs
