expenditures for various Subjects of Investigation (Commodities in CRIS
5). The data are from years
1970 to 2002 and has been combined using a set of codes we have names CRIS
5.5, since the translation uses some codes from CRIS version 5 and some
from CRIS version 6. The
translation matrix can be found here

The data columns for expenditures are defined as follows: CSREES Administered funds – funds administered by CSREES; Federal Grant Funds – includes NRI, CRGO, CSREES Grant Program, Cooperative Agreements, and Other Federal Grants; Other Federal Funds – includes other USDA Funds and funds from other Federal Agencies; Total Federal Funds – sum of Federal Funding Columns; State Appropriations – State Funds; Other Non-Federal Funds – includes self-generated funds and check-off programs; Total Fund Expenditure – Total of all columns; Non-Federal SYs – Total non-federal SYs.
